Privacy Policy

Razor's Edge Personal Training is operated by Richard Kerr-Phillips in New Zealand. This Privacy Policy explains how I collect, use, store and disclose personal information when you visit this website, apply for coaching, use my coaching services or communicate with me.
1. Who is responsible for your information?
Richard Kerr-Phillips is the privacy officer for Razor's Edge Personal Training.

2. Information I may collect
Depending on how you interact with me, I may collect:
- your name, email address, phone number and contact preferences;
- information included in a coaching application;
- your goals, training history, exercise experience and availability;
- information about injuries, physical limitations, medications, health conditions or other matters relevant to safe coaching;
- training records, workout results and progress information;
- photographs or videos you choose to provide for technique review or progress tracking;
- communications sent through email, WhatsApp, GoodLift or other agreed channels;
- payment status, transaction references and billing details supplied by payment providers;
- feedback, testimonials or transformation material you voluntarily provide;
- technical information such as browser type, device information, approximate location, IP address and website usage data.
I do not intend to receive or store your full payment-card number. Card payments are processed by the relevant third-party payment provider.
3. Why I collect information
I may use your information to:
- assess coaching applications;
- determine whether a coaching service is appropriate for you;
- provide and personalise online or in-person coaching;
- create and adjust your training programme;
- provide technique, nutrition and accountability support;
- communicate with you about sessions, payments and your coaching;
- operate and improve GoodLift and my website;
- respond to questions, complaints and privacy requests;
- maintain business, tax and payment records;
- protect my clients, business and technology from fraud, misuse or security threats;
- comply with legal obligations;
- publish a testimonial, progress photograph or client result where you have given appropriate permission.
You do not have to provide personal information, but I may be unable to assess your application or safely provide coaching if important information is withheld.
4. Health and training information
Some information you provide may be sensitive, including information about injuries, health conditions, medications or physical limitations.
I collect this information only where it is reasonably relevant to assessing or delivering coaching safely. I am not a doctor, physiotherapist, dietitian or other registered health practitioner. You should seek qualified medical advice where appropriate.
5. How information may be shared
I may share information where reasonably necessary with:
- service providers that support my website, email, file storage, payments or business administration;
- GoodLift, where information is required to deliver or manage your programme;
- WhatsApp or other communication platforms you agree to use;
- professional advisers such as accountants, lawyers or insurers;
- emergency services or an appropriate person where I reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to protect someone's safety;
- regulators, courts, government agencies or law-enforcement bodies where required or permitted by law;
- another person or organisation where you have authorised the disclosure.
I do not sell personal information.
6. Overseas service providers
Some service providers, including hosting, email, analytics, payment or communication providers, may store or process information outside New Zealand.
Where personal information is disclosed overseas, I will take reasonable steps to ensure the disclosure is permitted under New Zealand privacy law.
7. Cookies and website information
The website may use cookies or similar technology to:
- operate essential website functions;
- remember basic preferences;
- understand website performance and usage;
- protect the website from abuse or automated traffic.
You can usually restrict cookies through your browser settings, although some website functions may not work correctly.
8. Security
I take reasonable safeguards to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure.
No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. If a privacy breach occurs that is likely to cause serious harm, I will take the steps required by New Zealand privacy law.
9. Retention
I retain personal information only for as long as reasonably required for the purpose for which it was collected, to provide coaching, maintain appropriate business records, resolve disputes or meet legal obligations.
Information that is no longer required may be deleted, anonymised or securely destroyed.
10. Access and correction
You may ask for access to personal information I hold about you and request that it be corrected.
Send requests to Richard@razorsedgept.com. I may need to verify your identity before providing access.
If I do not make a requested correction, you may ask me to attach a statement recording the correction you requested.
11. Client photographs, videos and testimonials
I will not publicly use an identifiable client photograph, video, testimonial or transformation result unless permission has been obtained.
Permission to use material for marketing can be discussed separately from participation in coaching. Where practical, you may ask me to stop using the material in future publications, although I may not be able to retrieve material that has already been printed, shared or lawfully published.
12. Children and young people
My standard coaching services are intended for adults. Coaching for anyone under 18 must be discussed with me in advance and may require consent and involvement from a parent or legal guardian.
13. Complaints
Please contact me first at Richard@razorsedgept.com if you believe your privacy has been affected.
You may also make a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner in New Zealand.
14. Changes to this policy
I may update this Privacy Policy when my services, technology or legal obligations change. The current version will be published on this website with its updated date.
